Subnet Categories

All 128 subnets sorted into 12 primary categories by what they actually do. Operating status, tier and risk flags are separate fields you can filter on, so a dead subnet never sits in a comparison pretending to be a live one.

POINT IN TIME SNAPSHOT, NOT LIVE DATA Market figures were taken on October 1, 2026 and do not update. Refresh them against a live subnet data source before acting on any of them. For live root validator and basket returns, see the validator dashboard, which covers validators rather than subnets.

HOW TO READ THIS PAGE
Status answers the first question: is it running?

The source labels buried this in grey text at the end of a grade. It is now its own field. Live means the subnet has a price, a pool and volume: 113 of 128. The rest are not started, parked, deprecated, for sale, available, or unknown because there is too little public detail to say. Those 15 are hidden by default, because a row with no numbers cannot take part in a comparison. Switch to ALL or NOT LIVE to see them.

Emission off is the case worth knowing about. Three subnets have it, and two of them still have a pool and still trade. No new TAO is emitted to them, but the alpha already issued is still there and still moves. They are listed as not live and marked in amber rather than hidden with the parked ones.

Tier and half step

The original labels mixed three things into one string: a tier, a half step, and a risk note. They are now separate. The tier is A, B, C or X. The half step is the finer ordering, so a sort runs A, A/B, B+, B, B/C, C+, C, X rather than lumping thirteen A/B subnets in with fourteen straight A ones. None of this is a forecast and none of it says a subnet will go up.

Flags are filters, not decoration

Every risk note in the source is now a flag chip you can click to filter by. Near duplicates were merged: "insufficient detail" and "insufficient public detail" both became thin info. Established is the only flag that reads positive; the rest are cautions. A subnet with no flags simply carried no note in the source, which is not the same as being safe.

Two derived numbers

Turnover is 24 hour volume over TAO pool: how much of the pool changed hands in a day. High means you can get in and out but your own size moves the price; low means a thin book. Neither is good or bad, so it carries no colour. Share is the subnet's pool as a percentage of its own category's pool, which tells you whether you are looking at the anchor of a category or a minnow in it. Share is the reason the categories are here at all. It is measured against the whole category and does not move when you filter, so the visible shares will not add up to 100% whenever a filter is hiding one of that category's members. Inference and Model Serving reads 97.8% under the default live filter, because SN29 holds the missing 2.2% and has emission off.

Names

Five entries in the source had a status where the name should be: "Parked", "Available", "for sale", "deprecated", and the literal string "SN58". Those are not names. They now read unnamed and the status field carries the meaning. SN17 is genuinely called 404—GEN and SN29 is genuinely called hoτfloaτ; those are left exactly as the chain has them.

Comparing

Click any row to pin it. Pin two to four and the tray compares them side by side. Green marks the deepest pool and the highest 24 hour volume among the pinned set, because on those two more is simply more. Price and turnover carry no mark: a lower price is not a better subnet, and busy is not better than quiet.

Where the numbers come from. Price, TAO pool and 24 hour volume are point-in-time values read on October 1, 2026 and cross-checked against Bittensor.ai, Taosis and SubnetRadar. Turnover and share are computed from those columns and nothing else. Status, tier, half step and flags are derived from the source labels by rule, with the original label kept on every row: hover any tier badge to see it.

One correction applied. SN70 carried a label that parsed as live but has no price, no pool and no volume. A subnet with no market data is not trading, so it is filed as unknown. That is the only row where the derived status disagrees with a literal reading of its label.

What this page is not. It is not a ranking of the network, not a buy list, and not connected to how the FlowSniper agent scores subnets. The agent uses its own live signals on its own cadence. Treat this as the map, not the trade.
